In Achieve3000 Math teachers can opt-in to auto-assign problem sets and pre-requisites. These can be turned on under the class data tab.
Auto-assign problem sets
From class data and the Level Set tab, teachers can toggle on auto-assign problem sets. Problem sets will be auto-assigned after students complete Level Set Assessments. Students will be assigned three skills and once those are mastered, they will be assigned a fourth.
Note: Students who score 1540Q and higher will not have problem sets auto-assigned.
Prerequisites
Prerequisites are automatically auto-assigned to students if the platform senses the student is struggling. Students will receive a popup while they are in the problem set suggesting they try the prerequisite before continuing. Students have the option to select yes or no. If students select yes, they will be immediately brought to the prerequisite.
To view which prerequisites have been recommended, teachers can select class data and prerequisites. They can view current mastery of the skill and progress (if the student has started the prerequisite)
How prerequisites are auto-assigned
Prerequisites get recommend when the following conditions are met:
-
The student has responded to a step concept incorrectly at least 3 times.
-
The student has attempted at least 5 problems in the current problem set.
-
Student mastery in step's concept is less than 50% (will no longer show a suggested prerequisite with a bar showing master above 50%)
-
Student mastery in the current problem set is less than 80% (if student’s mastery reaches 80% the prerequisite suggestion will be removed)
-
Step's concept is not already assigned as an assignment or intervention to the student.
